In 1982, construction commenced on what was previously known as the Twin Rivers Tavern. Opening in December 1983, by April 1984 the tavern was auctioned to cover the $4 million in debts incurred by its builder.
The tavern was then purchased by the Beenleigh Rum Distillery, so they could procure the liquor license to utilize at Moran’s Wharf on the Albert River.
The venue was again auctioned in March 1985 without the license. In the late 1990’s – early 2000’s, fire destroyed the original building. Soon after, HCS took ownership of the facility, with HCS directors, Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs designing and building the new venue and renaming it the Eagle Tavern.
Fast approaching its 20th anniversary, the thriving Eagle Tavern has established itself as the
region's venue of choice. The standout in Eagleby for food, beverage and entertainment, Eagle
Tavern also incorporates three highly successful retail liquor shops.
