Group Operations Manager (QLD) Hotel & Club Specialists


Joining the HCS team in 2018, Daniel oversees all operations of all venues, from food and beverage to negotiating with suppliers, along with human resources management, labour and cost management, and developing operational policies and procedures.

Assisting HCS venues’ General Managers to achieve an increased gross profit, Daniel also works with them to ensure that their resources are being managed efficiently, whilst guiding them on effective leadership in managing their teams. In addition, Daniel oversees and facilitates development workshops for each venue’s key management positions, continuously upskilling their General Managers.

With a proven track record of leading teams across multiple sites, Daniel has a genuine passion for inspiring teams to succeed. Demonstrating an exceptionally high level of operational skills, Daniel is proficient at developing people and motivating them to achieve revenue, profit, and growth objectives in an extremely dynamic industry. He is also experienced at successfully initiating change in a challenging environment.

Daniel has a wealth of hospitality knowledge and insights, having worked in every Queensland region, where he has gained an intimate understanding of various regional demographics.

Truly believing that the key to inspiring people is to lead rather than manage, Daniel successfully applies this approach to developing individuals and building high- performance teams.

The club industry has a strong focus on entertainment and Daniel has been instrumental in the success of hosting several significant annual events. These include The Stones Corner Festival, Bulimba Festival, Airlie Beach New Year’s Eve Celebrations and several large-scale functions with over 4000 people in attendance.

Prior to joining HCS, Daniel spent 24 years working with ALH Group, who operate over 350 venues nationally. Promoted to Group Operations Manager within the company, Daniel held this role for 10 years, overseeing the multi-site general management. In this time, Daniel’s primary focus was to provide support and guidance for Venue Managers.

Daniel holds an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Business Management along with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
